🛡️ Field Rules & Regulations

To keep Prado Airpark safe, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone, all pilots must follow the Pomona Valley Model Airplane Club’s field rules and AMA safety guidelines. These rules help protect pilots, spectators, and the flying site itself.

Please review the information below before flying at the field.

📋 General Requirements

• Current AMA membership is required for all pilots.
• All pilots must follow AMA Safety Code and PVMAC rules.
• Guests must check in with a club member or officer before flying.
• All aircraft must be flown in a safe and controlled manner.
• Alcohol, drugs, or impaired flying are strictly prohibited.
• Unsafe behavior may result in loss of flying privileges.

🛫 Flight Operations

• Fly only within designated boundaries and approved airspace.
• Never fly behind the flight line or over the pit area, parking lot, or spectators.
• Use a spotter when appropriate, especially for large or fast aircraft.
• Announce intentions clearly (e.g., “Taking off,” “Landing,” “On the runway”).
• Yield to aircraft in distress or on final approach.
• Taxiing in the pit area is not permitted.

🛠️ Aircraft & Equipment

• All aircraft must be airworthy and properly maintained.
• Perform a range check before your first flight of the day.
• Turbine aircraft must follow all AMA turbine safety rules.
• Electric aircraft must be handled safely; charge batteries only in safe locations.
• Use appropriate failsafe settings for your radio system.

👥 Pilot Conduct

• Be courteous and respectful to other pilots and visitors.
• Share the airspace and communicate clearly.
• Follow all instructions from club officers or safety personnel.
• Report unsafe behavior or field hazards immediately.

🅿️ Field & Facility Use

• Keep the pit area clean and organized.
• Dispose of trash properly.
• Park only in designated areas.
• Do not block access roads or emergency paths.
• Pets must be leashed and kept away from the flight line.
